Lentinellus vulpinus
Lentinellus vulpinus is recognized by it's shelf like clusters, a white to yellowish tan cap with a woolly surface and gills with ragged or coarsely toothed edges. Commonly found in Alberta growing on conifers and hardwoods. L. vulpinus have short stems which fuse with neighboring stems while a similar mushroom Lentinellus usinus has no stem and usually a reddish brown cap.
