Hypomyces luteovirens
This is the Green Lobster, Hypomyces luteovirens. This powdery, mold like covering over the gills and stem is found most commonly on Russula's but can also attack Lactarius sp.. It is easily recognized by the yellow green to dark green color that it changes it's host to. Hypomyces luteovirens seems to be less destructive than H. lactfluorum as it attaches itself to the upper stem and gills of the host mushroom making ID of the host possible in some cases.
